Corinthians 6:13 (download)
Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
Paul introduced verse 13 by explaining the relationship between meats/food and the
belly. He said that meat is for the belly, and the belly for meats. In other
words, the function of the belly is to digest food. It was made for that
purpose. There is a direct correlation between the two. The stomach was designed
in a robust way to handle the flood of food that would pass through it on a daily
basis. Some people eat three to six times a day. Some will advocate two to three times daily
in order to rest the system. However, the bottom line is, the stomach
was designed to process the food that we eat.
After laying the foundation,
Paul makes a comparison between the belly and the body. He is saying that food is
for the belly, but sex is not for the body. The body was not made for sex.
The primary function of the body is not to have sex, we are to glorify God in our
bodies. Whether married or unmarried,
we do not have the right to treat our bodies like sex objects. The
Bible
says, "For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."

Corinthians 6:20. God cannot be glorified when we act out the
corrupt, perverted imaginations of our minds where sex and our body is concerned.
The beauty and purity of sex given to us by God has been maliciously perverted by
the devil. Sad to say, as a result of the reprobate mind of many,
they are not able to discern the corruptions in the methods employed in performing the act of
sex. Even professed Christians, from the pastors to the pew members have bought into
the perversions of the devil.
Temperance
Temperance is a virtue
and it must be applied in every facet of life. However, many believe that they are
given the right and privilege through marriage, to enter into sexual intercourse with
their spouse for any duration of time or as many times as possible. But God cannot
be glorified in the abuse of this marital privilege. Many cannot see the spiritual
attacks in this practiced by the devil. Precious energy that is needed to carry out
the work of God is expended on the desire of our baser nature. This practice overtaxes our bodies and weakens our system. We need education on the link between the
body and the mind. When this is obtained we will be enlightened on this spiritual
assault by the devil. Friends, if our system becomes lethargic because of our intemperance
where sex is concern, then we will not possess the vital energy needed to fight off the
spiritual, mental and physical attacks of the devil. At this time he employs his
strongest deceptions.
Sex is good for us in moderation, but sex in excess is
detrimental to our soul. Scientists
have discovered that sexual excess weakens the immune system leaving one
vulnerable to
diseases. Clifford Lowell, an immunologist at the University of California
at San Francisco confirms this fact. In addition, Professor Emeritus at State
University of New York after much research found out that sexual excess causes insanity,
nervousness, weakness and other diseases.
There are many standing in
positions of influence exhibiting a form of godliness but are denying the power
thereof. These individuals are disgracing the cause of God by their unsanctified
passions. Their taste and passion are not brought under the control of the Holy
Spirit in their lives. They are ruled and controlled by lust. The desires of
their hearts need to be sanctified and ennobled. The dignity and self respect of
the wife or husband are sacrificed on the altar of intemperance. We allow the devil to lure us
into competition where sex is concerned as well. One man or woman may enter into sexual
intercourse with their spouse every day, and upon this knowledge by another, they feel compelled
to double up. Sex is not for the body as food is for the belly. If our minds
were centered upon Jesus Christ then our attitude in this respect would be governed,
controlled and ennobled by God. Our minds are so far from God that the only thing
some can think and talk about is sex. Everybody seems to be captivated, hypnotized
and bewitched by sex. Sex and more sex is on the tongue of many. The more
the better is the rule of the day. This should not be our focus, save Christ and
Him crucified. Our
minds should be fixed on Jesus Christ. The man who practices sexual excess will be
in danger of the judgment as a result of destroying the temple of God.

5:16
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Propelled by the excited, energizing spirit of the
devil, many employ their members in works of uncleanness. The body and mind are
not sanctified through the Word of God. Many are not walking after the spirit, so
they will always fulfill the lust of the flesh. The subject of animalistic
passions is a spiritual problem. The Apostle Paul puts it this way.
Romans
1:28
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Like the children of Israel we are looking to everything and everybody, except God.
We do not want an intimate relationship. Consequently, without any moral
direction, which only comes from God, man began to dishonor their own bodies. The
disturbing fact is that, many
use marriage to justify their corrupt hearts and reprobate minds.
For
example, many professed Christians will justify oral sex by saying that marriage is
honorable and the bed undefiled. God forbid. How can we carry out these
animalistic passions powered by sexual demons and think to justify such actions.
We have been feeding from the fountain of filth by watching the perversions of the devil
through Hollywood. Many get excited and wonder after the lifestyle of this
world. Many feed on a steady meal of corruption from Hollywood to the point that
they become conditioned to sexual immorality. Oral sex becomes
their new
normality. Everybody seems to be doing it and a practice that was once repulsive
becomes a desired pleasure. Yesterday's heresies have become today's practice.
The devil has successfully redefined deviances by the manipulation of public opinion
through the use of the media.
Some
Christians in this age of relativity will consult the "adult" and porn video stores for ideas on
sex. Sexuality is now an art and we need to be open minded where the world of sex
is concerned. Many people will argue and say, "The marriage bed is undefiled so
as long as these acts are performed under the banner of marriage, they
automatically inherit a sanctified attribute. The
imaginations of our hearts are corrupted, that is why our spirits are not troubled by such
actions. Who hath bewitched you, friend. Oral sex is demonic and such a
corrupt practice should never characterize Christians nor should we entertain the
thought.
Many professed
Christians will go to the point of having anal sex. This is justified also by saying that the
bed is undefiled. One cherished sin paves the way for a life
of evil imaginations and vile affections. When the mind, passions and sex organs are controlled by the
devil we will always misuse scripture in an attempt to substantiate and justify our claims.
We will always misuse our members to gratify our immoral desires. We need to have an open mind, open to new things many will say. Don't be deceived
friends, for this is another form of homosexuality as well. Our organ of sex should not be
introduced to the organ that discards waste. Many women lose their dignity
and self-respect by being subjected to these animalistic passions. The men also
become enslaved and sometimes forced by the charm of their spouse to yield their members
to uncleanness.
Romans 1:26-27
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.
The devil will not stop there, he will develop our perversion into full blown
homosexuality. Cherished sins strengthen our baser nature. God did not give
us that woman to turn her into a slave for sex. Our business is to cherish, respect
and promote all purity in her. Likewise the woman towards her husband. None
should strengthen the animalistic passion in each other by giving into such corrupt
practices. Our contribution to the marriage relationship should serve to elevate
and ennoble.
Cherished animalistic passions will promote many evils in the marriage. The organs
of the woman are abused in gratifying the corrupt imaginations of her
husband's heart and
vise versa. Some wives are afraid to have sex with their
husbands because they have a tear-it-up mentally. Some
husbands wants to see the expression of pain on the face of their
wives. He wants to feel her pulling away and climbing walls so
that he can feel like a man. Husbands, your wives are not an
animal. Banging against the wall of her womb is painful, she
will blister and develop serious medical conditions. It is not
her idea of pleasure. Many wives are more concerned with
pleasing their husbands, so they endure the abuse and say nothing
until it's too late. Wives, if your husbands are abusing you
in such manner, speak up. There are true stories of wives that
has to visit the doctor after having intercourse with their
husbands. A woman is not an animal. Therefore, treat her
with respect. Ask her what she likes, ask her what is painful,
and treat her in a gentle manner for she is fragile and
delicate. If this abuse continues, self-respect diminishes and often distrust sets in.
In addition, a mirage of diseases will surface as well. Do not dismiss these admonitions
and continue in sin. We pray that all will make a decided change where such practices
are concerned.
Fornication
Corinthians
6:18-19
18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
This is one of the most serious topic with eternal
implications. Yet many Christians casually do it. They
willfully fornicate. If this comes to you as shock, then you
have been sleeping out your existence. Sad to say, some choir
members, as well as various other departments in the church, the
members are sleeping around with each other. Friends, the
truth in love will set you free. Instead of sugar quoting sin,
sometimes we need to say it like it is. The Christian church
is highlighted, for judgment begins at the house of God. We need to
clean up our act, before our attempts to sanitize society.
This issue of fornication is not restricted to a specific age group,
department, race or status, it is a people, heart condition
problem. Hearts that are not sanctified to God. The Lord
simply wants us to obey.
So, the Lord admonishes every man to flee fornication in verse
18. The Bible continues to say, "he that committeth
fornication sinneth against his own body." Many are
asking the same question, "what does it mean to sin against my
own body?" The Lord answers that with two questions and
with boldness. The answer, "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?"
The answer has the tone of misbelieve. In the sense that, it
is puzzling why a issue like fornication, which has eternal
consequences is not thoroughly studied and comprehended. Well, let
us more on to find out why it is so important. We will focus
on these words, "know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in
you?" We should be asking ourselves, "isn't sin,
sin. Then why would fornication cause us to sin against our
own body in relation to our bodies being the temple of
God?" Consider the following.
1 Corinthians 6:15-17
15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
Christians, our bodies are the members of Christ. We are one with
him. Why would anyone want to pollute that holy union by
making their body a member of an harlot. The pollution only
exist with pre-martial sex or adultery. Why? Well, the
Bible says, "What God has joined together, let no man put
asunder." The Lord joins married couples together, making
their bodies members of His, for marriage is holy and
undefiled. Therefore, He is making reference to pre-martial
sex (fornication) and adultery (sex with someone other than your
marriage partner). Now, the same process that makes the
marriage individuals one, is the same process that joins an
individual to an harlot and that is intercourse. Intercourse
is the spiritual act which creates the oneness.
Notice the Bible says, "He which is joined to an harlot is one
body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh." The body
encapsulates the entire man. His attitudes, thoughts, demons
and diseases. Therefore, if a man has intercourse with a
woman that is a bi-sexual, the act of intercourse will transfer her
homosexual demons to that man. And of course, we know very
well that all her diseases will be transferred in the process as
well. We resetle not against flesh and blood, but against
spiritual wickedness. Everything that happens in this world is
influences by good or by evil. Everything is primarily
spiritual in nature. In the case of fornication, the Bible
says, "God forbid." In other words, He is disgusted
with the act. Friends, do you understand that you actually
become one with the individual you fornicate with. Their
demons will become yours. You might protect yourself from
contracting a sexually transmitted disease, but how are you going to
protect yourself from all the ugly demons that you know nothing
about. We have enough demons to deal with, why would we want
to add seven more? Friends, fornication is not beautiful, it
is ugly. We should be scared to death of it. The Bible
says, "Flee fornication." In other words, run for
your life like Joseph and leave your shirt if needs be, like he
did.
We should not prematurely stimulate the sexual feelings of the opposite
sex before time. Men as well as women, you are call to
protect, not to corrupt and pervert. It is the greatest
disrespect when someone tries to have pre-martial sex with
you. No matter how they try to sugar quote things, it is the devil
speaking and acting through them. Brothers, rebuke that
sister. Sisters, rebuke that brother and stay away for the
devil is out to get you. Don't be deceived for kissing is
foreplay. It is designed to lead up to sex. Heavy
petting (touching and hugging) is foreplay as well. We know
that we are not suppose to have sex, but we just want
something. A little kiss, a huge, a touch, we just want
to "feel good." We tend to justify this behavior
by highlighting the fact that we exercised control and we did not
have intercourse. You might have did good then, but how long
is that going to last. Answer these questions, dear
reader. How does someone become a liar. an alcoholic, a thief
etc... You know the answer, by telling that first lie, by
taking that first drink, by taking that which does not belong to us
that first time. We try to get as close as possible without
giving in. Said to say, we believe we can just put on the
brake, activate cruse control and prevent ourselves from
accelerating to levels where we will be totally out to
control. Many great lights have gone dim because they we
treading on forbidden grounds. Friends, the fact is, you have
lost control from the thought process, before you actually executed
the act. While on Satan's ground, he launches his strongest attacks.
He launches those powerful demons of passion that will stand up in
you, propelling you to your doom, like a lamb to the
slaughter. There is not control when treading on Satan's
ground.
Our best defense is prevention. Prevention is better than
cure. Run friends, stay far away from any situation that will
promote intercourse. And remember, kissing and petting is
sin. Yes, it is!!! It is foreplay. What is the
purpose of foreplay? To promote the act of sex. Are you
suppose to have sex if you are not married? NO!!!
Then why are you promoting foreplay (kissing, heavy petting)?
Can you honestly say you can kiss the one you are so attracted to
without experiencing a hormonal and emotional reaction? If the
answer is yes, you are not human. You might be able to control
yourself a few times, but how long will that last. That is the
plan of devil. He causes us to believe that we can control the
situation, causing us to believe that we can stand on our own, and
that is when we fall flat on our faces. Don't play that game,
dear reader, the best defense is to stay away completely. How
many times does it take to loose your virginity? How many
times does it take to get pregnant? How many times does it
take for you to contract aids? As you know so well, it only
takes one time.
Therefore, we sin against our bodies in two ways. Physically,
because the parties involved become one flesh. Consequently, the
torn in their flesh is transferred (transmitted diseases). Spiritually, because the
demons of one becomes the demons of the other. Remain pure
friends. Virginity is not a disease. Don't try to get
rid of it. Remain pure for Jesus and your spouse if you plan
to get married.
Masturbation
Do not be deceived, for masturbation
is a form of homosexuality. The word "homo" means
like or same. Therefore, when an individual masturbates, only
one sex is present. The Bible promotes heterosexual relationships. In other words,
all sexual relations that involve only one sex is homosexuality. This vile practice stems
from a heart sanctified to Satan. The Holy Spirit will never instruct anyone to
carry out such a corrupt thing. Masturbation is not the answer
to sexual urges that one cannot carry out immediately for whatever
reasons. Stop abusing yourself. Masturbation affects every aspect of life. It
affects your spiritual, mental and physical well being. We must understand
that these areas are not
independent of the others but inter-dependent. All three work together to
establish health. That is why the devil employs this weapon because he knows that the practice of masturbation will
destroy man completely.
Scientists have accredited many physical ills to
the practice of masturbation. They found out that masturbation disturbs the nervous
system. The lungs and liver are affected and diseases such as neuralgia,
rheumatism, affection in the spine, diseased kidneys and cancerous tumors are formed as
well. in addition, catarrh, dropsy, headache, loss of memory and sight,
weakness in the back and loins and insanity set in as well. So, when the Bible
admonishes us to flee from the lusts of the flesh and walk after the spirit we can
understand why.
We often forget that we are at war. There is a spiritual war
raging around us and all these sexual immoralities are weapons of mass destruction
employed by the devil to ensnare our souls. Friends, our cultivated and hereditary
tendencies must be cleansed by God. Taste and passion must be brought under the
control of the Holy Spirit. We have conformed to this world and
its corrupt practices
because they are portrayed as innocent through televised programs.
To be transformed by the
renewing of our mind is the invitation of God the Father. And how is this
possible? By reading His Word and looking to Him on a moment by moment
basis. If we suppress self and walk after the spirit we will not carry out the
lust of the flesh. A desire for the opposite sex is natural but we should not be
controlled by these desires. Many are controlled by their baser nature to the
point of having sex with themselves. This again friends is another form of homosexuality.
The Bible says that, "He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls."
Proverbs 25:28. We must exercise control through the power of the Holy Spirit to
suppress the desires of the flesh.
Look to Jesus friends, and He will sanctify all your members, which are His.
