patterns are not centered around Jesus
Christ.
Some may argue and say, "why would I want to think about God all the
time. Yes I want to think about him, but not all the time." The problem is
that we believe that we can stand on our own. We believe that we can do
something. The fact is, we cannot sustain ourselves even for a minute without God's
protection. We are no match for the devil. Often times when we think peace and safety
then sudden destruction comes. We should have a burning desire to retain God in
our thoughts at all times. Consider this scripture:
Romans
1:28
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate
mind, to do those things which are not convenient.
When we walk in the imaginations of our own mind, fornication, fear, doubt and evil surmising
will surface. True wisdom and mental health come only from
God. There are many evils in this world that
are fighting for the supremacy of our minds. Therefore, it is paramount that we guard
well the avenues to our minds, by keep our eyes single upon Jesus Christ.
Romans
12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be
ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
The renewing of our minds is only achieved by reading the word of God. He wants us to develop mentally and
spiritual. The cultivation of our minds should not be prevented by poverty
or unfavorable situations. If there is a will there is a way. The objective
is:
Philippians
2:5
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
When we seek the wisdom of this world, our minds get diseased and fear, doubt, anxiety,
spiritual darkness and ill-health are the sure results. Those attributes should
never characterize the children of God. We should never allow the truth in God's words to depreciate before our
minds because those who profess it do not live consistent lives. Jesus and only Jesus is
our example.

Peter 3:8
Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
