whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone
out into the world." Trying the spirits sounds simple enough, but how is it
done?
Isaiah
8:20
put
it this way, "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light
in them." As we walk through this world, be vigilant and remember that everything
that happens is eihter influenced by good or by evil. There
is no middle ground. There is a spiritual conductor behind the explanation of
scripture, wars and rumors of war. Our responsibility is to try the spirit to see whether
it is from God.
There is a war ragging around us and we are caught in the crossfire.
Some do not understand that it is a spiritual war, so we are trying to use carnal weapons to
fight a spiritual war. The
bible makes it clear that "we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against
spiritual wickedness in high places." Eph
6:12.
We cannot use what I think, what I believe, brute force or weapons of mass
destruction. No, we will only aid the cause of the deceiver of souls. He wants to
confuse, divide and destroy the citizens of earth. The Devil is not a respecter of
person. He will use and destroy anyone that will allow themselves to be used. So
remember, we are not fighting against flesh and blood. The man whom you can see is flesh
and blood. Until we can separate the issue from the person, we are already
defeated.
The
spirit of discernment is needed to uncover the devil in the background working thought the
things that are seen to stir up strife and confusion. Zechariah
4:6 reminds us that "we cannot fight this war by might, nor by
power, but by God's spirit." So,
let us put on the whole armour of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
